Section 388-97-4000 - Heating systems in new constructionThe nursing home must ensure:
(1) The heating system is capable of maintaining a temperature of seventy-five degrees Fahrenheit for areas occupied by residents and seventy degrees Fahrenheit for nonresident areas;(2) Resident rooms have individual temperature control, except in a dementia care unit controls may be covered, locked, or placed in an inconspicuous place;(3) The following is insulated within the building: (a) Pipes conducting hot water which are exposed to resident contact; and(b) Air ducts and casings with outside surface temperatures below ambient dew point.(4) Insulation on cold surfaces includes an exterior vapor barrier; and(5) Electric resistant wall heat units are prohibited in new construction.Wash.
