Section 388-97-2760 - Dining, dayrooms, and resident activity areas(1) The nursing home must provide one or more rooms designated for resident dining and activities that are: (c) Adequately furnished; and(d) Large enough to accommodate all activities.(2)In a new building or addition, the nursing home must design space for dining rooms, dayrooms, and activity areas for resident convenience and comfort and to provide a homelike environment. These areas must be located on the same floor as the residents who will use the areas. The nursing home must: (a) Ensure these rooms or areas are exterior rooms with windows that have a maximum sill height of thirty-six inches;(b) Provide space for dining, day use, and activities with a minimum combined total of thirty square feet for each licensed bed;(c) Design any multipurpose rooms to prevent program interference with each other;(d) Locate a day room on each resident care unit;(e) Provide storage spaces for all activity and recreational equipment and supplies, adjoining or adjacent to the facilities provided; and(f) Locate a common use toilet facility, with handwashing sink and accessories, providing direct access from the hallway and within a maximum of forty feet from these spaces.Wash.
