Section 314-24-060 - Quality standards All wines of the types and classes hereinafter set forth sold in the state of Washington shall meet the minimum requirements set by TTB.
(1) Preservatives: No wines shall contain preservatives such as benzoic acid, salicylic acid or monochloracetic acid, or their derivatives except that wines classified as specialty wine in accordance with WAC 314-24-003 may use benzoic acid or its derivatives if such use has been approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration.(2) Stability: All wines shall be free from precipitates, colloidal matter, metallic casse, haze due to yeast, bacteria, tartrates, or other causes as determined by usual stability tests: Provided, however, That sediment may be allowed at the discretion of the board when it occurs in accordance with commercial standards commonly accepted by trade designations as normal and indicative of the wine's composition.Wash.
