Section 246-851-500 - Credentialing by endorsementA license to practice optometry may be issued without examination to an individual licensed in another state that has licensing standards substantially equivalent to those in Washington.
(1) The license may be issued upon receipt of: (a) Documentation from the state in which the applicant is licensed indicating that the state's licensing standards are substantially equivalent to the licensing standards currently applicable in Washington state;(b) A completed application form with application fees;(c) Verification from all states in which the applicant holds a license, whether active or inactive, indicating that the applicant is not subject to charges or disciplinary action for unprofessional conduct or impairment; and(d) Certification that the applicant has read chapters 18.53, 18.54, 18.195 and 18.130 RCW, and chapters 246-851 and 246-852 WAC.(2) The board may require additional information as needed to determine if an applicant is eligible for credentialing by endorsement.Wash.
