Section 246-840-4960 - Coprescribing with certain medications(1) The advanced registered nurse practitioner shall not knowingly prescribe opioids in combination with the following Schedule II-IV medications without documentation in the patient record of clinical judgment and discussion of risks with the patient: (e) Nonbenzodiazepine hypnotics also known as Z drugs.(2) If a patient receiving an opioid prescription is known to be concurrently prescribed one or more of the medications listed in subsection (1) of this section, the advanced registered nurse practitioner prescribing opioids shall consult with the other prescriber(s) to establish a patient care plan for the use of the medications concurrently or consider whether one of the medications should be tapered.Wash.
