Section 246-810-040 - Requirements to report suspected abuse or neglect of a child or vulnerable adult(1)Chapter 26.44 RCW requires that all counselors must report suspected abuse or neglect of a child, when they have reasonable cause to believe that such an incident has occurred.(2)Chapter 74.34 RCW requires that all counselors report when there is reasonable cause to believe that abandonment, abuse, financial exploitation, or neglect of a vulnerable adult has occurred.(3) The report must be made to the local law enforcement agency or to the department of social and health services within twenty-four hours after there is reasonable cause to believe that the child or vulnerable adult has suffered abuse or neglect.Wash.
