Section 246-337-140 - Lighting, emergency lighting, and electrical outlets The licensee shall ensure that lighting, emergency lighting, and electrical outlets are adequate and safe including:
(1) Protection of bulbs and tubes against breakage by using canned lights, appropriately fitted shields, or shatter resistant materials in all areas occupied by residents, and in medication and food preparation areas.(2) Use of tamper resistant electrical outlets in each room or area occupied by children under age five or residents with unsafe behaviors.(3) Use of electrical outlets of the ground fault interrupter type or be controlled by a ground fault circuit interrupter when the outlet is within six feet of a sink or wet area.(4) Emergency lighting on each floor.(5) Exterior lighting with solar or battery backup at the exit and entry doors.Wash.
