Section 181-97-060 - Selection of recipients - Review committee(1) The chair of the professional educator standards board shall appoint annually a committee to review and select the recipient for the Washington award for excellence in teacher preparation. The committee shall include: (a) The chair or other member of the professional educator standards board;(b) Two members representing higher education teacher preparation programs;(d) The chairs of the legislative education and higher education committees.(2) No person who represents a higher education teacher education institution from which a nomination has been received, or is a member of that college or university's professional education advisory board, shall be allowed to vote on that individual's nomination.(3) In making the selection, the committee may give consideration to the nominees' recent contributions to the field and shall be guided by the criteria under WAC 181-97-040.Wash.
