Section 170-297-7650 - Serving foods

(1) The licensee or program staff may:

(a) Serve each child individually; or

(b) Serve family style in serving containers that allow each child the opportunity to serve themselves.

(2) The licensee or program staff must:

(a) Closely supervise all children when eating;

(b) Not force or shame a child to eat or try any food;

(c) Not punish a child for refusing to try or eat foods;

(d) Serve meals in a safe and sanitary manner;

(e) Be respectful of each child's cultural food practices; and

(f) Sit with children during meals when possible.
