Section 12VAC5-421-1540 - Equipment, clothes washers and dryers, and storage cabinets, contamination preventionA. Except as specified in subsection B of this section, equipment, cabinets used for the storage of food, or cabinets used to store cleaned and sanitized equipment, utensils, laundered linens, and single-service and single-use articles shall not be located:2. In toilet rooms or vestibules;5. Under sewer lines that are not shielded to intercept potential drips;6. Under leaking water lines including leaking automatic fire sprinkler heads or under lines on which water has condensed;7. Under open stairwells; or8. Under other sources of contamination.B. A storage cabinet used for linens or single-service or single-use articles may be stored in a locker room.C. If a mechanical clothes washer or dryer is provided, it shall be located only where there is no exposed food; clean equipment, utensils, and linens; unwrapped single-service and single-use articles; and so that the washer or dryer is protected from contamination.12 Va.
