Section 20 031 007 - REGULATIONS PERTAINING TO THE CONTROL OF BEE DISEASESSection I Manner of Reporting Locations of ApiariesA. The owner, caretaker, operator, lessee or agent of the owner of one or more apiaries shall make a written report to the Commissioner of Agriculture concerning the establishment or existence of each apiary or colonies of bees setting forth the number and location of such apiaries or colonies and the name and address of the owner thereof, and if appropriate, the name of the caretaker or operator of same or the agent of the owner. Thereafter, such reports shall be made only as to any change in the location or number of apiaries or colonies of bees.Section II Order by Inspectors A. Written order to the owner, caretaker, operator, lessee or agent of an owner of diseased apiaries for the treatment, destruction or any other disease preventative action shall be on a Department of Agriculture form, dated and signed by the Inspector of Apiaries or his duly authorized agent of the Department of Agriculture. Such orders shall be delivered in person or by mail. I. Copies of such orders shall be filed with the Inspector of Apiaries.Section III Disposition, Special Treatment of Diseased Bee Colonies and Equipment Prior to DestrutionA. The owner, caretaker, lessee, operator or agent of an owner of diseased apiaries shall store all or part of such apiaries, including the honey combs, hives, hive bodies and other designated materials and equipment in such a manner as to be inaccessible to bees until such time as disease treatment is completed or such materials or equipment are destroyed by burning.B. Abandoned diseased apiaries, bee equipment in areas accessible to healthy bees may be seized and destroyed in such a manner as the Inspector of Apiaries deems necessary and appropriate20-007 Code Vt.
