Section R623-8-10 - Election Return Archiving(1) An election official shall ensure that archived material, including every ballot after an election, is stored and sealed in a receptacle and clearly labeled with the following information:(a) a description of the contents;(b) the name and date of the election; and(c) the destruction date.(2) Archived material shall include:(a) any electronic or physical ballot images and back-ups; and(b) any external storage medium used to collect ballot images or back-ups.(3) Archived material containers shall be sealed and seal numbers, if used, shall be documented.(4) Any access to archived material containers shall be documented.(5) The storage area shall be secure and accessible only to authorized County Clerk staff and personnel.(6) Chain of custody documentation shall be retained in accordance with Section 20A-4-202.Utah Admin.
