Section R66-30-7 - Processing Practices(1) The department incorporates by reference 21 CFR 111, 2007 version, Current Good Manufacturing Practice in Manufacturing, Packaging, Labeling, or Holding Operations for Dietary Supplements for a licensee engaged in processing a cannabinoid product intended for human consumption.(2) The department incorporates by reference 21 CFR 507, 2015 version, Current Good Manufacturing Practice, Hazard analysis, and Risk-Based Preventive Controls for Food for Animals for a licensee engaged in processing cannabinoid products for animal consumption.(3) A licensee that manufactures cannabinoid products for human consumption shall be registered with the Division of Regulatory Services within the department.(4) A licensee shall use a standardized scale that is registered with the department when industrial hemp or cannabinoid products are:(a) packaged for sale by weight; or(b) bought and sold by weight.(5) A licensee that also is a holder of a medical cannabis processing license shall adhere to the separation requirements of Section R68-28-5 to ensure physical separation of medical cannabis and industrial hemp in their facility.(6) A licensee that manufactures cannabinoid products shall ensure that the facility meets basic cleanliness standards, including:(a) buildings are of suitable size, design, and construction to permit unobstructed placement of equipment, orderly storage of materials, sanitary operation, and proper cleaning and maintenance;(b) floors, walls, and ceilings are constructed of smooth, easily cleanable surfaces and are kept clean and in good repair;(c) fixtures, ducts, and pipes are installed in such a manner that drip or condensate does not contaminate materials, utensils, contact surfaces of equipment, or finished products in bulk;(d) lighting and ventilation are sufficient for the intended operation and comfort of personnel;(e) water supply, washing and toilet facilities, floor drainage, and sewage system are adequate for sanitary operation and cleaning of facilities, equipment, and utensils, as well as to satisfy employee needs and facilitate personal cleanliness; and(f) adequate filth and pest controls are in place.Utah Admin.
