Section R58-6-5 - Poultry and Gamebird Dealer License(1) Any poultry or gamebird dealer must be licensed by the Department.(2) Individuals selling less than 1,000 hatching eggs or birds per year are exempt from licensure.(3) Each location in which poultry are sold must be licensed separately on an annual basis.(4) Any person desiring a license shall apply to the Department on a department form and pay a fee based on the approved Department fee schedule.(5) Licensees must keep records for the calendar year of purchases and sales. Sales records for gamebirds must include the buyer's name, physical address, and telephone number, as well as the number and types of eggs or gamebirds purchased.(6) The area where the birds are kept should be clean and appropriate for the type and age of the poultry.(7) Bird care and handling should conform to recognized husbandry practices. Birds should be housed to prevent the spread of illness to other birds or people.(8) All individuals purchasing birds should receive written information on handling poultry safely to prevent human illness.Amended by Utah State Bulletin Number 2023-11, effective 5/23/2023
