A dealer, or federal, state, or local government agency, must provide a buyer's temporary tag receipt to the buyer of each vehicle for which a buyer's temporary tag is issued, regardless of whether the buyer's temporary tag is issued using the temporary tag database or if the tag is a preprinted Internet-down temporary tag. The dealer, or federal, state, or local governmental agency, may print the image of the buyer's temporary tag receipt issued from the temporary tag database or create the form using the same information. The dealer, or federal, state, or local governmental agency, shall instruct the buyer to keep a copy of the buyer's temporary tag receipt in the vehicle until the vehicle is registered in the buyer's name and until metal plates are affixed to the vehicle.
