Section 175.101 - DefinitionsThe following words and terms, when used in this chapter, shall have the following meanings, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise.
(1) Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR)--A procedure or combination of procedures that uses an impartial third party to assist individuals in voluntarily resolving disputes, including procedures described in §§154.023 - 154.027, Civil Practice and Remedies Code. The GDRA does not grant the GLO authority to engage in binding arbitration.(2) Board (VLB)--The Veterans Land Board of the State of Texas.(3) Commissioner--The Commissioner and also chairman of the Veterans Land Board.(4) Contested case--Shall have the same meaning as such term is defined in the Administrative Procedure Act (Texas Government Code, Chapter 2001).(5) Executive Secretary--The executive secretary of the board.(6) GDRA--The Governmental Dispute Resolution Act, Texas Government Code, Chapter 2009.(7) Impartial Third Party (ITP)--A person who meets the qualifications and conditions of Texas Government Code § 2009.053, GDRA.(8) Party--Shall have the same meaning as such term is defined in the Administrative Procedure Act (Texas Government Code, Chapter 2001).(9) Person--Shall have the same meaning as such term is defined in the Administrative Procedure Act (Texas Government Code, Chapter 2001).(10) Rule--Shall have the same meaning as such term is defined in the Administrative Procedure Act (Texas Government Code, Chapter 2001).(11) State Agency--Shall have the same meaning as such term is defined in the Administrative Procedure Act (Texas Government Code, Chapter 2001).40 Tex.
