Section 30.161 - Community Eligibility Criteria To be eligible to participate in this program, a community must:
(1) be a medically underserved community as defined in § RSA 487.201, Texas Government Code; (2) exist in perpetuity as a non-profit entity governed by council members, commissioners, or a board of trustees that: (A) is responsible to and serves the community in which it is located; (B) is legally authorized to raise funds and/or accept grants and financial gifts from citizens, scholarship funds, or private foundations; (3) not have filed bankruptcy; (4) commit to contributing start-up month to an eligible physician in a minimum amount of $15,000 but not more than $25,000 per year for up to two years; (5) apply for state matching funds available through this program; and (6) contract with an eligible physician who agrees to provide primary care in the community for at least two years.4 Tex.
