Section 265.183 - Plans and Instructions(a) Plans for new construction of pools and spas. DSHS may review plans for pools and spas to ensure compliance with construction requirements. If DSHS intends to review plans, DSHS will notify the owner or operator in writing.(b) Additions, alterations, renovations, or repairs authorized. A minor addition, alteration, renovation, or repair to an existing pool or spa and related mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems may be performed in accordance with the construction standard that was in place when the pool and spa was constructed.(c) Accepted practice for pools and spas. The structural design and materials for pools and spas constructed before the effective date of this subchapter must be in accordance with accepted industry engineering practices and methods prevailing at the time of original construction unless otherwise stated in this subchapter.25 Tex.
