Section 5.53 - Scheduling of Examinations(a) In order to qualify for registration by examination, an Applicant must schedule and pass all sections of the NCIDQ within the time period required by the Council for Interior Design Qualification (CIDQ).(b) Notwithstanding subsection (a) of this section, an Applicant described by § 5.31(c) of this chapter may schedule and pass all sections of the NCIDQ examination within the time period: (2) adopted by the Board and in effect at the time the application was filed.(c) A qualifying examinee may request an extension if the examinee is unable to pass all sections of the examination within the required time period for the following reasons: (1) The examinee gave birth to, or adopted a child;(2) The examinee developed a serious medical condition; or(3) The examinee commenced active duty service as a member of the United States military.(d) An examinee may receive an extension of up to 6 months for the birth or adoption of a child by filing a written application with the Board together with any corroborating evidence immediately after the examinee learns of the impending adoption or birth. An examinee may receive an extension for the period of the serious medical condition or for the period of active duty military service by filing a written application with the Board together with corroborating evidence immediately after the examinee learns of the medical condition or the commencement of active duty military service. An examinee shall immediately notify the Board in writing when the medical condition is resolved or active duty military service ends.
