Section 231.61 - Mathematics, Grades 6-8An assignment in a departmentalized classroom for Mathematics, Grades 6-8, for a holder of a valid elementary, secondary, or all-level certificate is allowed with one of the following certificates.
(1) Bilingual Generalist: Early Childhood-Grade 6 (Grade 6 only).(2) Bilingual Generalist: Grades 4-8.(3) Core Subjects: Early Childhood-Grade 6 (Grade 6 only).(4) Core Subjects with Science of Teaching Reading: Early Childhood-Grade 6 (Grade 6 only).(5) Core Subjects: Grades 4-8.(6) Core Subjects with Science of Teaching Reading: Grades 4-8.(7) Elementary Mathematics (Grades 1-8). A teacher holding an Elementary Mathematics (Grades 1-8) certificate may teach Algebra I at the middle school level for high school graduation credit.(8) Elementary teacher certificate plus 18 semester credit hours in mathematics.(9) English as a Second Language Generalist: Early Childhood-Grade 6 (Grade 6 only).(10) English as a Second Language Generalist: Grades 4-8.(11) Generalist: Early Childhood-Grade 6 (Grade 6 only).(12) Generalist: Grades 4-8.(13) Grades 6-12 or Grades 6-8--Mathematics.(14) Junior High School or High School--Mathematics.(15) Junior High School or High School--Mathematical Science, Composite.(16) Legacy Master Mathematics Teacher (Grades 4-8).(17) Legacy Master Mathematics Teacher (Grades 8-12) (Grade 8 only).(18) Mathematics: Grades 4-8.
