Section 12.567 - Cessation of Operations: Permanent(a) The person who conducts underground mining activities shall close or backfill or otherwise permanently reclaim all affected areas, in accordance with this chapter (relating to Coal Mining Regulations) and according to the permit approved by the Commission.(b) All surface equipment, structures, or other facilities not required for continued underground mining activities and monitoring, unless approved as suitable for the postmining land use or environmental monitoring, shall be removed and the affected lands reclaimed.(c) Persons who conduct underground mining activities shall submit to the Commission a written notice of intent to permanently cease and abandon mining operations as soon as the intent is finalized.16 Tex.
