Section 1365-01-.16 - FREE HEALTH CLINIC AND VOLUNTEER PRACTICE REQUIREMENTS(1) A licensee who has not been disciplined by any licensure board may receive a "special volunteer license" pursuant to T.C.A. § 63-1-201 and 63-23-112, which will allow the licensee to practice social work without remuneration and solely within a "free health clinic" as defined by T.C.A. § 63-1-201(1).(2) In order to obtain a special volunteer license, a licensee shall submit the following to the Board office: (a) Completed application along with any required documentation;(b) Letter of good standing from each state licensing board where the licensee is licensed to practice social work; and(c) The name and location of the free health clinic in which the licensee intends to practice, along with proof that the clinic is operated by a nonprofit private entity that does not receive payments for its services and does not charge the individuals that it serves.(3) A licensee with a special volunteer license may renew, retire, or reinstate a license and the license may be subject to disciplinary action.(4) A licensee with a special volunteer license may only practice social work in a free health clinic at a specified site or setting.(5) A licensee with a special volunteer license may not charge or receive any fee, compensation or remuneration of any kind from any person or third party payor, including but not limited to insurance companies, health plans, and state and federal benefit programs for the provision of any services.Tenn.
