Section 1200-07-01-.09 - DELAYED REGISTRATION OF MARRIAGE(1) The registration of a marriage after the time prescribed by statute shall be made on the standard certificate of marriage form in the manner prescribed below: (a) The certificate must be filed with the County Court Clerk where the marriage license was originally issued;(b) To be acceptable for registration by the State Registrar the delayed certificate of marriage must be supported by: 1. A copy of the license or of the application for license if the license was granted.2. A signed statement from the officiant or the custodian of the official record and from one witness to the wedding ceremony proving that there was a marriage and the date and place of the marriage.(2) In all cases, the State Registrar may require additional documentary evidence to prove the facts of marriage.Tenn.
