Section 0940-05-16-.24 - USE OF PHYSICAL HOLDING IN HOSPITALS
(1) Physical holding must be used only when less-restrictive methods have been attempted and must be implemented in such a manner so as to minimize any physical harm to the patient. Physical holding can only be used under the following conditions:
(a) To prevent injury to self or others;
(b) To prevent substantial property damage;
(c) To prevent serious disruption of the therapeutic environment; and
(d) In transporting patients to the seclusion room, restraint area, or time out area.
