Section 0940-03-06-.05 - POLICIES AND PROCEDURES(1) Any hospital that provides inpatient mental health services and uses isolation or restraint must develop and employ policies and procedures that ensure compliance with this chapter. Policies and procedures must identify approved techniques for the safe and appropriate application and removal of isolation and restraint, including physical holding. Policies and procedures must also identify approved devices, materials, and/or equipment that is approved by the hospital for use as mechanical restraints. No policy or procedure may authorize a removal of clothing from a service recipient in conjunction with the use of isolation or restraint, other than that which is determined to place the service recipient or others at risk.Tenn.
