Section 0940-01-01-.04 - DURATION OF CONSENT AND EFFECT OF REVOCATION(1) A consent for a specific class of medication remains effective until either: (a) the patient or resident who has consented or the patient's or resident's guardian who has the authority to consent to medication expressly revokes the consent in writing or orally, or(b) the patient or resident who has consented continuously refuses, either orally or behaviorally, to take the medication for a 72 hour period, thereby revoking the consent. If the patient or resident or guardian subsequently indicates a willingness to have the medication administered, the medication may be resumed only after the patient or resident gives a voluntary, informed consent in writing as initially required under rule 0940-1-1. .03 or as otherwise authorized under rules 0940-1-1-.05 through 0940-1-1-.10.Tenn.
