Section 0400-53-02-.04 - SAFETY VALVES(1) A safety valve is required on all flowing wells, with a surface pressure in excess of 1,000 pounds in the following categories.(a) Any location inaccessible during period of storm or floods.(b) Location within any wildlife refuges, parks or game preserves, or bodies of water used for recreation or navigation.(c) Location within 600 feet of public roads or waterways, railroads, inhabited dwellings, or closer than 1,000 feet to any school or church.(2) Where the use of safety valves would unduly interfere with normal operations of a well, the Supervisor may, upon submission of pertinent data in writing, waive the requirements of this rule. .Tenn.
