Section 0400-20-11-.12 - CONTENTS OF APPLICATION FOR CLOSURE
(1) Prior to final closure of the disposal site, or as otherwise directed by the Department, the applicant shall submit an application to amend the license for closure. This closure application must include a final revision and specific details of the disposal site closure plan included as part of the license application submitted under part (3)(a)7 of Rule 0400-20-11-.08 that includes each of the following:
(a) Any additional geologic, hydrologic or other disposal site data pertinent to the long-term containment of emplaced radioactive wastes obtained during the operation period.
(b) The results of tests, experiments or other analyses relating to backfill of excavated areas, closure and sealing, waste migration and interaction with emplacement media, or any other tests, experiments or analysis pertinent to the long-term containment of emplaced waste within the disposal site.
(c) Any proposed revision of plans for:
1. Decontamination and/or dismantlement of surface operational facilities;
2. Backfilling of excavated areas; or
3. Stabilization of the disposal site for postclosure care. .
(d) Any significant new information regarding the environmental impact of closure activities and long-term performance of the disposal site.
(2) Upon review and consideration of an application to amend the license for closure submitted in accordance with paragraph (1) of this rule, the Department shall issue an amendment authorizing closure if there is assurance that the long-term performance objectives of Rule 0400-20-11-.16 will be met.
