Section 0400-20-07-.45 - SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
(1) In addition to the requirements of Rule 0400-20-04-.12:
(a) A licensee shall provide radiation safety instruction, initially and at least annually, to personnel caring for patients or human research subjects that have received therapy with a radioactive drug, and cannot be released under Rule 0400-20-07-.35. The instruction must be appropriate to the personnel's assigned duties and include the following:
1. Patient or human research subject control; and
2. Visitor control to include the following:
(i) Routine visitation to hospitalized individuals in accordance with Chapter 0400-20-05;
(ii) Contamination control;
(iii) Waste control; and
(iv) Notification of the radiation safety officer, or their designee, and the authorized user if the patient or the human research subject has a medical emergency or dies.
(b) A licensee shall retain a record of individuals receiving instruction in accordance with Rule 0400-20-07-.96.
