Section 61:08:03:02 - Owner or user to notify chief inspector of accident

If an accident occurs that renders a boiler inoperative, the owner or user shall notify the State Fire Marshal's Office within 24 hours and shall submit a detailed report of the accident within five days. In case of a serious accident, such as an explosion, notice shall be given immediately by telephone, telegraph, or messenger. The boiler and any of its parts may not be disturbed before an inspection has been made by the boiler inspector or fire marshal, except to save human life.
