The lottery, the commission, and the state of South Dakota are not responsible for any machine malfunction that causes credits to be wrongfully awarded or denied to players. The operator or owner of the video lottery machine is solely responsible for any wrongful award or denial of credits. An operator or owner's liability is limited to the number of credits for the game displayed in the game rules and may not be greater than $1,000 for any succession of games played.
