Section 20:53:03:05 - Plumber's apprentice license

An applicant for a plumber's apprentice license shall complete an application, which may be obtained from the commission, showing the plumber under which the applicant is working. The initial apprentice license fee is $10 and the apprentice license renewal fee is $10 per year. Apprentice plumbers who have completed two years (3800 hours) of experience in learning about and assisting in the installation, alteration, and repair of plumbing under a plumbing contractor may work without immediate and personal supervision on single family dwellings if the apprentice plumber is under the employment of a plumbing contractor and can demonstrate competency by passing an examination administered by the commission. The examination fee is $50. An apprentice may not renew an apprentice license once the apprentice has accumulated seven thousand six hundred hours of experience.
