Nothing in this chapter prohibits or changes the usual and customary practice of a nurse anesthetist, as of June 30, 2020, or the institutional and individual practitioners with whom they may practice: including direct administration, or the ordering of controlled substances preoperatively. intraoperatively or postoperatively as a nurse anesthetist in accordance with chapter SDCL 34-20B.
Nothing in this chapter authorizes a nurse anesthetist to make a primary and differential diagnosis.
