Section 20:44:21:04 - Municipal licenses

An electrician applying for a license from a municipal government under SDCL 9-34-12 must first possess a state license before being eligible to hold the equivalen or lesser local license.

If the equivalent license does not exist at the state level, the license offered by a municipal government must first be approved by the commission and then passed as an ordinance by the municipal government.
