Upon completion of the investigation, the investigating committee shall recommend to the board whether the charges should be dismissed for lack of merit or whether based upon the investigation of the committee there is sufficient basis to proceed with either a formal hearing or other disposition. The failure of a licensee to comply with the investigation request administered by the board may result in disciplinary action. The board may also petition the court of the county in which the individual licensee resides, and the court may enter an order compelling the compliance or imposing such terms and conditions as the court may deem necessary.
