If fire sprinkler or fire alarm shop drawings are to be used to finalize engineering concepts, a licensed professional engineer shall provide and be responsible for the design concept and specifications, which must be adequate for shop drawing preparation by others. The licensed professional engineer shall review the shop drawings of the system prior to its permit review and installation. In addition, the licensed professional engineer shall provide a review stamp or letter of review attached to the drawings.
After installation of the fire sprinkler system and fire alarm system, the licensee shall furnish a written letter stating the system has been installed in accordance with the shop drawings and tested in accordance with the manufacturer's specifications and the appropriate National Fire Protection Association requirements. This acceptance letter shall be made available to appropriate jurisdictional authorities and interested parties.
