Section 20:04:25.01:15 - Purse payments paid for horses scratched from final

Unless otherwise provided by the nomination form, if a horse that qualified for the final is unable to be entered in the final due to racing soundness or is scratched from the final for any reason other than a positive drug test, a rule violation, or failure of the responsible party to make proper and timely nomination payments, the horse shall be deemed to have earned and the owner shall receive last place purse money. If more than one horse is scratched from the final for any reason other than a positive drug test, a rule violation, or failure by the responsible party to make proper and timely nomination payments, the last place purse monies shall be added together and divided equally among the owners of the scratched horses based on the number of horses owned by each owner.
