Section 20:04:18:22 - Veterinarian to conduct post mortem examination

No horse which dies, is subjected to euthanasia, or breaks down for unknown causes while competing at any track licensed by the commission may be removed from the track grounds or destroyed until the official veterinarian or a veterinarian retained by the commission conducts an examination at a time and place designated by the official veterinarian to determine the cause of death or breakdown. The veterinarian shall report his findings to the executive secretary within seven days after the death of the horse.
