Section 20:04:14:01.13 - Types of races

The following types of greyhound races are authorized in South Dakota:

(1) "Hurdle race," a race over a course in which jumps or hurdles are used;

(2) "Overnight race," a race for which entries close 72 hours or less before the time set for the first race of the day on which the race is to be run;

(3) "Purse race," a race for money or other prizes for which the entrance money, if any, must be paid and every other condition complied with at the time of closing entries;

(4) "Race on the flat," a race over a course in which no jumps or other obstacles are placed.
