Section 61-4.1000.1012 - Treatment of Outpatients with Methadone(a) If a physician determines that methadone would be the drug of choice as an analgesic for a particular patient, the physician may issue prescriptions for methadone to the patient. Such prescriptions may be dispensed by any pharmacy that has agreed to perform such dispensing function.(b) The treating physician shall agree to maintain adequate records to substantiate the use of methadone as an analgesic for the patient and shall make such records available to DHEC upon request.S.C.
