Staff practices shall promote conditions that prevent the spread of infectious, contagious, or communicable diseases and provide for the proper disposal of toxic and hazardous substances. These preventive measures or practices shall be in compliance with applicable regulations and guidelines of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), for example, the Bloodborne Pathogens Standard; the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention; Regulation Regulation 61-105, Infectious Waste Management; and other applicable state, federal, and local laws and regulations.
