Section 61-103.1000.1002 - Statement of Rights of ResidentsA. Each resident shall be afforded the following rights: (II) 1. The right to be treated with consideration, respect, and dignity, including privacy in treatment and in care for personal needs;2. The right to be cared for in an atmosphere of sincere interest and concern in which needed support and services are provided;3. The right to a safe, secure, and clean environment;4. The right to confidentiality;5. The right to voice grievances without discrimination or reprisal;6. The right to be free from harm, including isolation, excessive medication if applicable, abuse, or neglect;7. The right to be fully informed, at the time of acceptance into the program, of services and activities available and related charges;8. The right to communicate with others and be understood by them to the extent of the resident's capability;9. The right to visitation of the resident's family and significant others unless clinically contraindicated and documented in the resident's records. Appropriate areas for visitation shall be provided;10. The right to conduct private telephone conversations with family and friends and to send and receive mail. When restrictions are necessary because of therapeutic or practical reasons, these reasons shall be documented, explained to the resident and family and reevaluated at least monthly; and11. The right to be fully informed, as evidences by the resident's written acknowledgement of these rights, of all rules and regulations regarding resident conduct and responsibilities.B.
