Section 49-470 - Methods of Marking Property BoundariesA. Corner Tree: "X" and three (3) chops on the sides where the line enters and leaves the tree.B. Corner Witness Tree: One (l) blaze and three (3) chops or three (3) chops facing the corner.C. Side Line Tree: Two (2) chops facing the property line.D. Property Line Tree or Center Line Tree: One (1) blaze and two (2) chops, at points where the line enters and leaves the tree.E. Monuments shall be placed at all property corners where there is a change in direction of a property line.F. Inaccessible Point: In the event a corner cannot be marked or monumented, one or more witness monuments or metal stakes shall be placed on the boundary line and described by bearings and/or distances so that the inaccessible point may be located accurately on the ground.G. Boundary Monument or Witness Monument: In the event the location falls on pavement, concrete, or other material, it is permissible to use spikes or scribes in or on the surface.Amended by State Register Volume 33, Issue No. 6, eff June 26, 2009; State Register Volume 46, Issue No. 05, eff. 5/27/2022.
