A. These regulations are intended to establish minimum standards for the practice of surveying in South Carolina. (1) The standards set forth are to promote uniform requirements for and accurate surveys by surveyors practicing in South Carolina.(2) The established guidelines will assist a surveyor in meeting the needs of their clients so that surveyed properties henceforth can be readily located, mapped and described in a definitive and easily understood manner.B. These regulations are also intended to provide guidelines that will assist property owners and others who deal with real property such as those in the legal, banking, and real estate professions. (1) The manual should be of value to property owners in South Carolina when engaging the services of qualified surveyors to establish corners, boundaries and maps of their respective properties.(2) The manual should assist the Clerks of Court in the various counties of South Carolina in receiving and accepting for recordation maps that are in compliance with appropriate standards and statutory requirements.Amended by State Register Volume 33, Issue No. 6, eff June 26, 2009; State Register Volume 46, Issue No. 05, eff. 5/27/2022.
