Section 136-714 - Apprentice Citizenship and Physical RequirementsA. Every apprentice applicant must meet the requirements of Section 54-15-90 of the 1976 Code and the Coast Guard requirements for citizenship, physical health and general federal licensure as contained in 46 CFR 10.201 - 10.223.B. All apprentice applicants must certify and be prepared to demonstrate that they can swim, unassisted, for a distance of not less than 100 meters, and can remain afloat, unassisted, for a period of not less than fifteen minutes, immediately thereafter.S.C.
