Section 49.31 - Submission of plans(a) Whenever a shellfish processing, depuration or controlled purification facility is constructed, remodeled or altered and whenever an existing structure is converted to use as a shellfish processing, depuration or controlled purification facility, properly prepared plans and specifications for the construction, remodeling or conversion shall be submitted to the Department for review and approval before construction, remodeling or conversion is begun.(b) The plans and specifications must indicate the proposed layout, arrangement, mechanical plans and construction materials of work areas and the type and model of proposed fixed equipment and facilities. A shellfish processing facility, depuration or controlled purification plant may not be constructed, remodeled, altered or converted unless the plans and specifications are first approved by the Department.
