Section 1.148 - Anasarca or generalized edema(a) Carcasses of cattle found on postmortem inspection to be affected with anasarca in advanced stages and characterized by an extensive or well-marked generalized edema shall be condemned.(b) Carcasses of cattle, including their detached organs and other parts, found on postmortem inspection to be affected with anasarca to a lesser extent than as described in subsection (a) may be passed for human food after removal and condemnation of the affected tissues, if the lesion is localized.
