Section 23.10 - Age of participation(a) A person between 12 and 17 years of age may participate in amateur contests or exhibitions after obtaining written permission from a parent or legal guardian, and the consent of the Executive Director.(b) A person 12 to 16 years of age may not participate in a contest against an opponent who is more than 1 year older.(c) The limitations in subsections (a) and (b) do not apply to sanctioned events for the Junior Olympics under the direction of a National governing organization certified by the Commission.(1) For the purposes of the Junior Olympic events, participants, with the written permission of a parent or legal guardian, may box only in the following age divisions: (i) Ten and eleven years of age.(ii) Twelve and thirteen years of age.(iii) Fourteen and fifteen years of age.(2) A participant may not take part in any event outside of the approved division for that age group.The provisions of this §23.10 adopted March 11, 1946; amended November 1, 1966; amended May 17, 2002, effective 5/18/2002, 32 Pa.B. 2443.The provisions of this §23.10 amended under the Athletic Code, 5 Pa.C.S. § 103(b)(1).
