Section 2600.161 - Nutritional adequacy(a) Meals shall be offered that meet the recommended dietary allowances established by the United States Department of Agriculture.(b) At least three nutritionally well-balanced meals shall be offered daily to the resident. Each meal shall include an alternative food and drink item from which the resident may choose.(c) Additional portions of meals and beverages at mealtimes shall be available for the resident.(d) A resident's special dietary needs as prescribed by a physician, physician's assistant, certified registered nurse practitioner or dietitian shall be met. Documentation of the resident's special dietary needs shall be kept in the resident's record.(e) Dietary alternatives shall be available for a resident who has special health needs or religious beliefs regarding dietary restrictions.(f) Drinking water shall be available to the residents at all times.
