Section 21.823 - CNS-level continuing education; waiver; sanctions(a) In lieu of meeting the RN continuing education requirements of section 12.1(b) of the act (63 P.S. § 222(b)), a CNS may submit proof of completion of the CNS continuing education requirement set forth in section 8.5(c)(2) of the act (63 P.S. § 218.5(c)(2)).(b) The Board may waive the requirements of continuing education in cases of illness or undue hardship. It is the duty of each licensee who seeks a waiver to notify the Board in writing and request the waiver at least 90 days prior to the end of the renewal period. The Board will grant, deny or grant in part the request for waiver.(c) An individual failing to meet the continuing education requirements for a biennial period will be sanctioned in accordance with § 43b.18a (related to schedule of civil penalties for nurses).
